Ghanaian rapper Yaw Tog has shared the highs and lows of life as an independent artiste.

In an interview on 3Music TV on October 9, 2025, he revealed that while being independent gives him freedom, it also comes with huge pressure and responsibility.

“I like to be independent and go into partnership deals, not 360 deals,” he said.

“Being independent is calm, but the pressure is too much. You need your team and must control everything to make sure things work.”

He added that record labels handle most of the work for signed artistes, which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage.
