Efia Odo Sets the Record Straight: “I Only Date Men Who’ve Made It”

You can’t date me if you are now trying to make it in life; I have passed that stage. – Efia Odo Sets the Record Straight: “I Only Date Men Who’ve Made It”

Ghanaian actress and socialite Efia Odo has stirred up conversation with her candid views on relationships and finances.

Speaking on the Keeping It 100 Percent podcast, Efia made it clear that she’s not interested in dating men who are still trying to find their financial footing.

According to her, her current lifestyle and success have raised her standards—especially when it comes to choosing a partner.

“I’m way past the phase of struggling with someone,” she said boldly. “I’m already made, and if you’re not already made too, we simply don’t align.”

Efia didn't mince words when asked if she would consider dating a man earning GHC₵3,000 a month, particularly if he was willing to share a large portion of it with her. Her response was straightforward: it’s a no.

“I wouldn’t even entertain the idea. If that’s your income level, we’re not even having a conversation,” she stated.

“It’s not about what you’re willing to give—if you’re not earning enough, you’re not my type.”

The actress-turned-singer has never shied away from expressing her preferences when it comes to love.

Over time, she’s consistently maintained that she’s only interested in men who are financially established and living a lifestyle that matches hers.

Her remarks have sparked widespread debate online, with some applauding her honesty and others questioning her priorities.

But regardless of public opinion, Efia Odo is standing firm: for her, love without financial stability simply isn’t on the table.
