I Will Go Back To Armed Robbery & Fraud - A Ghanaian Comedian Showboy Issues Warning
I'll return to fraud and armed robbery if Ghanaians don't support my music. –Comedian Showboy Issues Warning.
Ghanaian musician and socialite Sam Safo, popularly known as Showboy or Showbezzy, has issued a controversial appeal for support, warning that a lack of backing for his music could push him back into crime.
In an interview on Adom FM, the former AMG co-founder said harsh economic conditions and limited job opportunities are pushing many young people to the edge—and he’s no exception.
"If Ghanaians don’t support my music, I’ll go back to fraud and sakawa," he stated, adding that he's determined to “get rich or die trying.”
According to Showboy, music is his only way out since he lacks the qualifications or skills for traditional jobs.
He even admitted having experience in illegal activities and claimed he wouldn’t hesitate to return if left with no option.
After serving six years in a U.S. prison for stabbing fellow musician Junior US, Showboy returned to Ghana in late 2023 and has since been trying to revive his career with songs like ‘GBA’ and ‘Stubborn’.
He also accused AMG co-founder Criss Waddle of betraying him.
His comments have stirred mixed reactions, with some criticizing his threats while others empathize with the tough realities he described.
